CCSS Update Volume III, Issue 22, July 2014

  DTA Negotiation Update

 Representatives of the District and the Dinuba Teachers Association met on August 29, 2014 in a day long negotiation session.  Progress was made on a number of items and agreement reached on several items.  The parties agreed to continue discussions regarding 4-6 grade preparation time and Professional Development for TK-6 grades. 

 At the end of the day the parties’ positions on major items were as follows:

 DINUBA TEACHERS ASSOCIATION:

 Increase the District contribution toward health and welfare benefits from $12,500 per year to $14,250 per year.

Increase the certificated salary schedule by 6.5% for the 2014/2015 school year.

 

DISTRICT:

 The District offered two options for consideration.  Both of these Options exceed 5% in total compensation for unit members.

 OPTION 1:

Article 14:  Employee Benefits

Increase the District contribution toward health and welfare benefits to $13,500 per year or $1,125.00 per month effective October 1, 2014.

Increase the permanent cap in Agreement to $13,500 per year.

Article 15:  Salaries

Increase the salary schedule 3.60% effective the month following ratification by the parties.
 
OPTION 2:

Article 14:  Employee Benefits

Increase the District contribution toward health and welfare benefits to $13,250 per year or $1,104.17 per month effective October 1, 2014.

Increase the permanent cap in Agreement to $13,250 per year.

 Article 15:  Salaries

 Increase the salary schedule 4.0% effective the month following ratification by the parties.

  The parties agreed to meet again on September 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
